Mn/DOT Snow Plow Cutting Edges
Improved Plowing Performance, Reduced Blade Wear, and Reduced Surface Impacts Transportation Research Synthesis (TRS)EVS prepared a Transportation Research Synthesis (TRS) for the subject of "Mn/DOT Snow Plow Cutting Edges for Improved Plowing Performance, Reduced Blade Wear, and Reduced Surface Impacts". EVS synthesized twenty years of regional, national and international research to prepare the TRS. This work needed to be done very quickly and efficiently, to do so the project was broken into recently completed, past and in progress research, vendor product information, related research, and patent pending cases. A table was developed summarizing key information and a research summary of approximately thirty projects were summarized and contact info provided. Conclusions were drawn based on the findings. The synthesis will assist Mn/DOT winter maintenance units in decision making in terms of equipment, and assist maintenance data to roadmap what further research may be required, as well as what research is currently in progress.
